I have had my s15i for about 1.5 years and there seems to be a noise when there is resistance put on the ride.
I’ve noticed rubber shavings under the bike and would like to know if this is normal.

What do I do to fix this?

Thanks for your thorough review. I really want to buy this bike! But I have been reading so many negative reviews about missing assembly parts, brand new rusted equipment, faulty electronics, no power after assembly…the list goes on and on. Many buyers warn about a history of NordicTrack overall quality problems. I was about to buy, but I am afraid of what I will get. It seems about a 50-50 shot. Any suggestions?

If you don’t pay for iFit, there are still several workouts you can access in the library – just most of the new video content is locked. To be honest, the s15i bike was designed around the app. If you are looking for something simple that doesn’t require a subscription, the C6 is a great option. I actually purchased a C6 for myself and it is what I ride at home. I roll it out in front of my TV and watch a show or do a Peloton class (Peloton digital app is $13/mo). When I’m done, I roll it back into the corner. If you want the programming and integrated incline/decline, the s15i is a fun bike. But for those who like to just hop on and ride, other options may be better.

So I’m interested in this bike but can realistically see me cancelling the subscription at some point. You mentioned this is not the bike for someone who does not want to pay for a subscription, therefore I’m also considering the Bowflex C6 as you suggested.
With the S15, if I cancel the subscription, will the Pre-programmed workouts provide ample options to utilize the bike?

As far as we know, you can’t swap out the screens. But we recommend contacting Nordictrack directly about this.

Hello,
Thank you for the great article on these Nordic track bikes. Do you know if there is any issue and swapping out the smaller S 15 screen with the larger S 22 screen? I would imagine it is possible I would love to hear more about any nuances about doing so.

There are free workouts available, but you need WiFi to stream them.

So there are no onboard workouts that do not require a wifi connection? Just trying to clarify. From your statement, I thought there may be onboard workouts that you would access similar to using the manual mode.

Could it be the pedal strap was clanking as you rode? That often happens. Another issue is the left pedal specifically has to be screwed in counterclockwise when you attach it. Otherwise, it will come unthreaded as you ride. The right pedal screws in normal, but check the left pedal and make sure you screwed it in the opposite of how you usually would. It could be that it isn’t fully tightened either.

Took my first ride today. I’m a beginner & the beginner series in Costa Rica kicked my butt! I noticed when my pace was above 8 the left pedal made a ticking noise. What gives?
